About the Owner

Chip Boles started his career in art school, honing his creative skills in painting, illustration, and color theory. These lead into mural painting, working on diverse projects in homes, schools, businesses, and religious spaces. It was a natural step from murals into scenic painting for children’s theater productions, a field similar to murals and illustration. Chip enjoyed this work immensely. He later shifted to scenic painting for film and TV, contributing to projects like Taylor Swift videos, the TV show “Nashville,” as well as series for CBS and Netflix.

During breaks from work in the entertainment industry, Chip took on house painting jobs and found he loved it, appreciating the detailed-oriented work and the satisfaction of pleasing clients. Motivated by this new interest, Chip launched HomePlace Painting in the fall of 2019.

The company has gone through significant growth, expanding from a solo operation to a dedicated team of 3 to 5 painters. Chip and his team made a strategic decision early on to focus exclusively on interior services. They introduced cabinet painting, which quickly became one of their most sought-after offerings. Expanding their portfolio further, they included wallpaper services, providing a comprehensive range of home improvement solutions to their clients.

He was professional, courteous, and timely. The entire team of painters did a wonderful job and were an absolute pleasure to be around and interact with while they spent many days helping turn this house into a home. ... It is obvious that HomePlace painting wants to do a good job, and that is exactly what they did! In fact, they did such a wonderful job with the upstairs that we ended up having them paint some of the downstairs, including the kitchen cabinets. Whenever we need to paint again, we are definitely going with HomePlace Painting.

Homeplace Painting is AWESOME. This was the best experience I have had with any type of contractor and just good professional customer service in general. They are artists and have an eye for space. They suggested colors for me as I was wanting a cleaner, brighter, uniform look throughout. No matter how many swatches of paint I looked at or showed people, we just came back to their original suggestions, and glad we did! T... They definitely leave a place better than they found it. I can't say enough good about them. If you are on the fence about a painter, go with these folks.

I had such a great experience with Home Place Painting. They put a great amount of time and care into fixing my walls up before painting. There were busted parts of drywall, some exposed wallpaper, and the walls were a dark grey that was painted on top of a bright red (previous homeowners). They covered every bit of that! They even went the extra mile and painted my attic door to make sure it matched the molding along the floor. Highly recommend!

My husband and I contacted HomePlace to paint the house we bought in May. The previous owners had left several holes and cracks in the drywall, and had painted the entire house an extremely dark blue that made the house feel very cold and unwelcoming. After contacting Chip, he completed a walkthrough of the house with us on FaceTime and had an estimate to us the next day. We hired him to paint the entire house and after day one, we were already super impressed with his work! The quality, thoroughness, and care taken with the painting was excellent. He was even able to repair the holes and cracks left by the previous owners and repaint some of the ceilings after finishing the repairs! Beyond the work performed, Chip himself was incredibly professional, friendly, and communicative about his progress on the job. We can't say enough good things about Chip and his work and are so happy we chose HomePlace!
